With our jam packed one-day itinerary, you’ll get a taste of the city’s vibrant atmosphere, iconic landmarks, and rich heritage. This condensed experience serves as an ideal way to immerse yourself in the highlights of Edinburgh, from the bustling Royal Mile to the majestic Edinburgh Castle.

Begin your day by embarking on an early exploration starting off at the Holyrood Palace, allowing you to savor the experience without the bustling crowds. From there, embark on a curious journey up the Royal Mile, meandering through enchanting closes and picturesque side streets such as: White Horse Close, Dunbar Close, Bakehouse Close, Advocate’s Close, Paisley Close, Riddle’s Court and Lady Stair’s Close.

Along the way, don’t miss the opportunity to step inside the magnificent St Giles Cathedral and marvel at the extraordinary Thistle Chapel. Finally, as you ascend the volcanic rock, you’ll reach the awe-inspiring Edinburgh Castle. Keep in mind that visiting the castle may require a significant amount of time, so it’s advisable to plan your visit when you have ample time to fully immerse yourself in its wonders, without feeling rushed.

Now that you have scoured the Royal Mile and have worked up your appetite its time to head for the highest rated full Scottish breakfast in the city. To do this head down Granny’s Green steps to Quinn’s. Sit down and relax before you wolf down your breakfast. Take your time to appreciate the square sausage, tattie scone, haggis and the Stornoway black pudding as you tick this off your bucket list. How was it? Let me know in the comments!

Next on your itinerary, venture towards two remarkable castle viewpoints. Begin at the Vennel and then make your way to the Ross Fountain in Princes Street gardens. Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of these locations before escaping the midday crowds by strolling to the charming Dean Village. Immerse yourself in the picturesque surroundings and embrace the tranquility it offers. From there, follow the serene path along the Water of Leith, leading you to the vibrant neighbourhood of Stockbridge. Find yourself a local coffee shop to sit and reminisce on your day so far or head to Chulos for one of the best cookies you will ever experience.

Now head for your haggis before the evenings big event! Try the Haggis Box, Makars Mash Bar or Whiski Bar.
