Scotland Highlands Hiking Tour

Experience an action-packed half day tour from Edinburgh to the Highlands, where the wonders of hiking trails, history and historic castles await. This jam-packed tour promises a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural exploration. Let our knowledgeable guide lead the way as you embark on an adventure you’ll cherish for a lifetime. Featuring the following tour highlights:

We will kick-start the day with a climb up one of three incredible hikes we have on offer, each varying in difficulty.

  1. Ben A’an, the short pointed peak is steep but incredibly rewarding peak offering incredible views over the southern Highlands and Loch Katrine. As you hike through this iconic landscape, immerse yourself in the tales of Rob Roy.
  2. Creag An Tuirc offers a shorter adventure into a less traveled area of the Trossachs National Park. As you ascend to the summit, you’ll be rewarded with “Boar’s Rock”, the rallying stone of Clan MacLaren.
  3. Sron A’Chlacain is an enticing adventure on the very north eastern boundary of the national park. For those seeking both natural beauty and a moderate challenge this is for you.  Once at the top it offers stunning views over Ben Lawers and Loch Tay.

In each location we will keep our eyes peeled for red and roe deer, golden eagles and red squirrels.

Tour Doune Castle

Once home to Scotland’s “uncrowned king”, Doune Castle is rich in history but also gained modern prominence as a filming location. It became iconic as the setting for multiple film and television productions. Most notably, portrayed as Castle Leoch in “Outlander”Winterfell in the pilot episode of “Game of Thrones” and it also featured as “Castle Anthrax” in “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” Its well-preserved exterior and distinctive features make it a sought-after location for filmmakers, bridging its historical past with its present-day cultural significance.

Visit Culross

Culross is an incredibly picturesque village in Fife. Prepare your cameras, it is renowned for its well-preserved colourful and historic architecture with its significance as a time capsule of the past. The village showcases a unique blend of 17th and 18th-century buildings, providing visitors with a glimpse into Scotland’s history. The town also plays its part as Cranesmuir in the Outlander series.

Other stops include Callander, a visit to see Highland Cows, bypass Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, Linlithgow Palace and the Kelpies.
